18 Weeks

Just so you know...I had a great post planned out for today that was not all about baby, however I have misplaced my converter for my camera so I couldn't upload my picture just yet. I'll try and find it tonight...during the commercial's of Grey's of course.

Anywho....so we've made it to 18 weeks already. Time is FLYING by. Just in case you are wondering, here is what little bit is up to this week

Head to rump, baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.
Now you may continue on about your day that you've had that little update. :) Everything is going great around here. We are just counting down the weeks and getting excited about our ultrasound. The #1 question we get asked right now is, "So when do you get to find out what you're having?" It seems like such a foreign concept to people that you might chose for it to be a surprise. It's like there's not even a choice. The answer to that question is this, "We are still in discussion about this one." Hopefully in the next two weeks the Lord will completely change one of our hearts so we are both happy. We both have waited so long for this little bundle that we are both overly sensitive to the other's feelings and ability to savor each moment of this pregnancy. It will be interesting to see what happens on the 5th. Regardless of the outcome, we will both be elated...either on the 5th or in February.

A friend of mine found out with her first and decided that her second would be a surprise. I had one friend who found out with everyone one of her kids because as she put it, "The biggest surprise isn't the sex, it will typially be one or the other...the biggest surprise is getting to watch them become they people they will become." Whatever you decide, congratulations!!
